Sebastien Posted June 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone, I'm planning to go hiking for few months in Western Europe and I wanted to bring my M6 with me. In some occasions I might use a tripod. GorillaPod SLR seemed quiet interesting. I wondered how well it would work with a Leica M. Any idea? Many thanks, Sébastien
Advertisement Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Hi Sebastien, Take a look here Gorillapod SLR on a Leica M. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marke Posted June 29, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 29, 2007 Sébastien, I'm not sure how happy you would be with that product. My fiancee bought me the mini version last year for my Panasonic LX2 (I had hinted about it). Well, it seems that because of the numerous joints, the contraption is very prone to vibration from the slightest touch. I imagine the SLR version might also behave the same way with a full-weight Leica sitting on it, especially when you consider that the tripod mount is way over to the side of the camera. I'm considering a Bogen mini pod or a Leica if I get one for my M6.
johnwolf Posted June 29, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 29, 2007 Sabastien, There are several threads on tripod alternatives in the M8 forum, including monopods, string tripods, mini tripods, and Gorillas. You might want to do a search. Personally, I'd take a light weight tripod along. It's a hassle but worth the effort. John
