And suddenly it was digital light

I just got into the second half of my life and I got an M8 as a gift!:D

So here is my first post... cheer... cheer!

I have been shooting Kodachrome 200 with M4/5/6 for the past 30 years...

I guess I will be selling some cameras to buy a second M8 body and maybe a Summicron 28 asph.

Any advice on where or how I can sell this list of stuff, should I trade with a dealer here in London (who?) or use Ebay (which I never had)?

This is what I want to keep:

Leica M6 chrome (just in case)

Leica M8 chrome

Leica D-Lux 3

Leica Summicron 35mm f2

Leica Summilux 35mm f1.4

Leica Summicron 50mm f2 coll.

Leica Summilux 50mm f1.4

Leica Elmarit 90mm f2.8

Leica Summicron 90mm f2 (not sure as I have the 2.8)

this is what I want to sell:

Leica M3

Leica M4 (Canada)

Leica M5

Leica M6

Leica M6

Leica IIIc (red curtain)

Leica mount Russar 20mm f5.6

Leica Summaron 35mm f3.5

Leica Summaron 35mm f3.5

Leica Summicron 50mm f2

Leica Summicron 50mm f2

Leica Summar 50mm f2

Leica Elmar 90mm f4

Leica Summicron 90mm f2

Leica Hektor 135mm f4.5

Leica Winder M

Hasselblad SWC

Nikon F

Nikon F Motor

Nikon F viewfinder

Nikkor 55mm f1.2

Nikkor 50mm f2

My second question is... am I mad?

My third question is... should i consider the Summicron 75?

As you can see I used the 35 and 90 almost exclusively till now.

I am almost certain I will get the 28/2 to replace the 35 (or in addition to, as the 35 is quite pleasant to use now).

I am overwhelmed by all this new thoughts going through my mind... help!!!

I would contact ffordes ( https://secure.ffordes.com/index.htm ) in your case for a commission sale.

Btw after you have sold all that, you'll have money to spare for a few other M8's ;)

Oh- and welcome to the forum - yes you are mad but not by our standards, most of us of went through this.

I started out as a photographer 25 years ago with the M's, turned to Canon digital, and now am back to M digital; it feels like going home while away on a long long journey. I use the 28 cron with the M8 and love it. You can also get a software from Alienskin called "exposure" which has excellent profiles that turn your digital images into film looks. I use it 80% of the time and if I need to print larger images I also use software from the same company called "Blowup".

The software sounds interesting, thanks...

What do you use for portraits?

I used the 90/2 and now the 90/2.8.

Also I used a Nikon F body with a 200mm, Should I take a Nikon D40x body or switch to Canon?

One other question the Blowup software brings to mind is whether I can enlarge images taken with the M8 as much as the ones taken with the M6 and Kodachrome 200.

Say about 50 x 100 inches?

Not necessarily in house... I could take the image to a professional printer

My largest was 1 metre (about 40") wide, it kept up well at that size without upressing. For the size you mention, it would depend on the viewing distance. There are many ways to do so, from the newest versions of Photoshop, even lowly PSE5 (which seems not to be bad at all), to dedicated software. You would have to experiment. There is of course always the option of stitching to reach immense resolutions.
