willemr Posted March 7, 2018 Share #21 Posted March 7, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I attached a screenshot of a wireshark capture which shows shows a small part of the PTP/IP protocol in action. Due to a limitation in wireshark, it's not possible to dump the decoded packets to a new pcap file. A CSV, TXT, or JSON file is possible though for those interested. In the complete capture, the DHCP request and offering is also visible. The 192.168.1.2 is the Leica M10 camera which acts as the server. Welcome, dear visitor! Defender110 Posted March 8, 2018 Share #22 Posted March 8, 2018 (edited) Brilliant! So, it's PTP/IP. That's relatively understood protocol--good news. The DHCP sequence sounds a little bit more tricky. Let me get this straight...the camera is acting as a DHCP server and the iPhone gets an IP from it on a 192.168.1/24 subnet, and then, presumably, the app initiates PTP/IP with the phone? I'm impressed that Wireshark has a PTP decoder. Edited March 8, 2018 by Defender110

Wireshark recognizes the PTP/IP protocol, but not sure if it can also extract transported images. I did do a quick search to find out if there are any (opensource/cross-platform) PTP/IP clients available, but not much luck on that front.
