The playfulness, a feeling of childhood discovery with these five kids cavorting. Appropriate vertical composition. Works for me, watching this pint-size astronomer stretching for a view on his tiptoes. Let us hope he is not into solar astronomy at this moment. Good eye, you've got, to catch this fleeting moment.

Thank you for your kind words. I took a few snaps of this scene but only really appreciated what I got later. The picture is alive with details. I only wish I'd managed to get the girl on the right in fully...

I know but it is not bothersome because all of the kids are in movement save the one at the telescope. The central focus. You have your prime number, five, in the composition artfully balanced. Depth of field is right on, falling off just beyond the kid on the ground. Really a cool shot with the 50 mm. Technical quibbling aside, it is the content that resounds. The note that touches on children's curiosity at play. Good show!
