Advertisement Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Hi Photoskeptic, Take a look here ACR 4.0 versus 4.1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fotografr Posted June 27, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 27, 2007 There are numerous reasons. It adds a Clarity control and improves the Sharpness control in several ways. There are other less significant improvements, but these two are worth it alone. Check the Read Me for 4.1 on the Adobe site.
Shootist Posted June 27, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 27, 2007 For the M8, is there any real reason to update? Yes 4.1 is much improved with extra feature and bug fixes. For M8 or any other camera. It's free and will come down with the auto update check. The real question is why not use the latest ACR.

In order for ACR4.1 to be installed, you need to have installed PS/CS3. It isn't as free as you think unless you have already bought PS/CS3.

It isn't as free as you think unless you have already bought PS/CS3. Well you wouldn't be running ACR 4 either unless you already had PS CS3. So if the question is 4.1 over 4.0 then I would suspect the OP already has PS CS3 and has been using ACR 4.0. In all cases above ACR 4.1 is totally free. Photoskeptic Posted June 27, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted June 27, 2007 Thanks, guys. I downloaded 4.1 and put it on my desktop. Not sure how to get it into CS3, though. Now I can't open any DNG's. I know I'm a klutz when it comes to computers. I'll just have to wait for my wife to get home from work:rolleyes:
