Photomic38 Posted August 17, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 17, 2017 Hi euston. I see a ramp for Harrier, I thought these planes were retired from service? Are the Typhoon substitutes? Jacques
euston Posted August 17, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted August 17, 2017 Hi euston. I see a ramp for Harrier, I thought these planes were retired from service? Are the Typhoon substitutes? Yes you're right, Jacques, the Sea Harrier was retired from the Royal Navy over 10 years ago. The ramp wasn't designed for the Harrier. The new carrier will be equipped with up to 40 F35s. euston Posted August 18, 2017 Author Share #7 Posted August 18, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I understand that the full complement of F35s for HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales will be built up over many years. Flying training on the new carrier is due to start next year.
