Hi All!

I have seen many nice images and magic images of R lens on the some website.

Please advice your images and experience of R lens on SL 601 for Portrait and Landscape in term of IQ, render, bokeh, 3D pop ...

I intend to get some R lens for SL 601 for Portrait, Landscape such as, R Apo 100 f2.8, R 90 (pre Apo), R Apo 180 f2.8 v2 ...

I also have got M10 with M Lux 35 Fle, M Apo 50 and M Lux 75!

Have a nice day!

Thanks!

Hi Phongph,

The 75 Lux is supposed to be very similar to the R80 Lux, which I happen to really enjoy for portraits.

I have also purchased a R 80-200 f4, which is soft in a nice way for portraits, and gives one the flexibility of the zoom range.

Frankly, you are probably in a good situation now with your M lenses for portraits with the versatility of the 50 apo and the 75 summilux.

I also have a R60 2.8 macro which is just a nice lens to have as well, and is reasonably priced.

For landscape, I have very much enjoyed using the Voigtlander 15mm f4.5 version 3.

Good luck with your selections.

Definitely echo the R 60 macro with the SL.  With focus peaking and the long throw of the focusing, produces nice e sharpness and bokeh.

Very reasonably priced these days.

Just noticed this thread . . . and had just happened to be outside seeing what effect an old skylight filter would have on my R 28-90mm. This lens has a combination of sharpness and tonal gradation that is not apparent in the also superb SL 24-90mm.

Here are the ones I own and use on the SL:

Lux-R 80 - perfect portrait lens due to its dreamy rendering at f1.4 which gradually changes to very sharp at f4/5.6. f2/2.8 being kind  of a sweet spot between crisp and dreamy (skin-friendly). The bokeh is beautifully soft at all apertures.

R 135 f2.8 - very nice portrait lens, lacking contrast and sensitive to bright light (losing even more contrast). Other than that super sharp with a lovely bokeh and you can always add contrast in postprocessing.

R 180 f2.8 - same  as 135, but longer :)

135 and 180 are kind of a bargain. Bought mine for 620 € - together. My 80 was about 1.300 €.

All 3 lenses are kind of heavy, due to their beautiful all-metal, tank-like design.

I've been looking for a mid ranged zoom and finally pulled the trigger on the 70-180. Looking forward to it! Will post my findings when I get it.

Was tossing up between this is the 80-200 and decided for the extra stop over the weight.
