I never fail to be amazed at the intricacy of the decorations on quite ordinary Victorian buildings. Of course, they may not always be respected over time as is demonstrated in the pictures below.

 

These were taken in a small lane called Mount Pleasant, at its junction with Gray's Inn Road in London.

Louis: nice find it never fails to amaze me what you can discover just by looking up. Pity some people don't appreciate these artifacts and try to maintain them in their original form.
