Shootist Posted June 25, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 25, 2007 Welcome to the forum and the world of Leica RF. One point, make sure you keep your finger away from both the viewfinder and the rangefinder window. Otherwise you will be posting how the rangefinder patch disappears now and then. And if you don't get in the habit of keeping those fingers away from those windows it will be very hard to see a clear image, IE finger prints all over the glass. To be honest I still find finger prints on mine almost everyday. Other then that have fun. I'm hoping you find a rangefinder as enjoyable to use as the rest of use do. fursan Posted June 25, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted June 25, 2007 Welcome, to images that will leave you speechless. enjoy. Thanks Steve. I have to learn how to hold this thing first. As shootist mentioned, fingerprints all over and my rh fingers are getting cramps. Wish I could see a close-up pic of how right handed people hold this camera!! Good images seem to be a long way off right now. Take care.

See the last post by CarstenW in this thread. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/27563-la-carte-m8-coming.html I use the grip on one of my M8's and not on the other. You might consider getting one. It does make hold the camera a bit easier. Not cheap but nothing Leica is inexpensive.

Shootist Posted June 25, 2007 Share #17 Posted June 25, 2007 fursan, mind the lenscap;) sometimes I forgot to free the lens looking through the windows... Bernd The way to overcome that is to always look at the meter LED's when you first put the camera to your eye. If they are flashing you have the lens cap on or your in a very dark room/area.
