hunterspoint Posted July 13, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 13, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Am on vacation and hope someone can answer a question. I am taking a picture of someone. The person is seated in the covered shade with a very bright background- the sea and bright sun in the background. I tried to use fill flash . Put it on force flash and used spot metering. The flash did not fire - tried a few times. Of course the pic came out with my subject being dark. I may be able to fix in post but wanted to do this in camera. Any help would be appreciated Thanks in advance
Advertisement Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Hi hunterspoint, Take a look here Leica T Flash question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
FlashGordonPhotography Posted July 13, 2017 Share #2 Posted July 13, 2017 Your shutter speed was higher than the sync speed of the camera, so the flash didn't fire. Either get your shutter speed down or use an external flash with hss. Gordon

IkarusJohn Posted July 19, 2017 Share #5 Posted July 19, 2017 Anyone tried their SF40 on the TL2? I'm a bit concerned it might brick the camera in the same way that the EVF 020 can. I'm enjoying using the camera, and I don't want to unnecessarily stop it from working ...
vikasmg Posted July 29, 2017 Share #6 Posted July 29, 2017 Anyone tried their SF40 on the TL2? I'm a bit concerned it might brick the camera in the same way that the EVF 020 can. I'm enjoying using the camera, and I don't want to unnecessarily stop it from working ... Valid question. I'm still awaiting a new TL2 after the Visoflex freeze. However I thing the flash would use the older style larger contact points at the centre of the hot shoe while the Visoflex uses the smaller ones in a row, semi-hidden at the front of the hot shoe. Still, it's something I would worry about :-) - Vikas

I'm a bit concerned it might brick the camera in the same way that the EVF 020 can. I'm enjoying using the camera, and I don't want to unnecessarily stop it from working ... I'm using the SF40 and SF64 (with old and new FW) and they both work fine.
barcoimage Posted April 17, 2021 Share #8 Posted April 17, 2021 I used the sf 40 on my Leica T yesterday and it worked well but it did brick the camera after four shots. Pulled the battery on the camera and kept working fine after that. Welcome, dear visitor! khk Posted June 26, 2021 Share #9 Posted June 26, 2021 What is an external flash with HSS for Leica CL/TL? SF 58/64 supports HSS f.i. with digital Leica M or SL, not CL/TL So far HSS is not possible ?
Gregm61 Posted June 27, 2021 Share #10 Posted June 27, 2021 The SF60 flash. I use that with my CL and it syncs with TTL all the way up to the maximum mechanical shutter speed of 1/8000 second. Also works with my M262 all the way to its maximum 1/4000 second shutter speed. I also have the SF C1 remote, allowing me to shoot the flash off-camera wirelessly with both, including high sync. I'll be picking up a second SF60 soon to put together a multi-flash setup, as well as having a backup.
