Advertisement Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Hi Keith (M), Take a look here Stepping into the R System. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nikau Posted July 15, 2017 Share #22  Posted July 15, 2017 I was using the Vario-Elmar-R  f4 35-70 on my R6.2 as recently as yesterday. It's a great all round lens that produces good results even when used at f4. I've rarely found the modest maximum aperture particularly limiting, but when it is a monopod or tripod saves the day! Keith (M) Posted July 25, 2017 Author Share #24 Â Posted July 25, 2017 Well, my first step into the R-World begins today with the arrival of an R5 & 35mm Elmarit-R III. Â I look forward to putting a test roll through it & of course assessing the results. However, see this thread for a point of concern. Â Â
otto.f Posted July 25, 2017 Share #25 Â Posted July 25, 2017 What I would check asap if I were you, notwithstanding the 12 month warranty, is the foam/rubber inlay in the light-lock in the backdoor. Deteroration of this foam is a rather known thingy of old R5's. It can be easily renewed. Â Looks very nice and new though!
Keith (M) Posted July 25, 2017 Author Share #26 Â Posted July 25, 2017 Thanks - I will certainly do that when I have finished & unloaded the first roll...

Keith (M) Posted July 27, 2017 Author Share #28 Â Posted July 27, 2017 Well, on first results I have to say I am very impressed by the performance of the lenses and indeed of the camera overall. Â I have uploaded photos to the 'I Like Film' thread but as that it is a very fast moving thread they can be seen more easily on my Flickr R5 album. Â Will be adding more images over the next few days...

Yes, fine! But for the future: did you notice the thin strip in the second photo left-under, so *in* the rail. That's a naughty one
