tonyniev Posted July 17, 2017 Share #21 Posted July 17, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) For the A7R, I use my Canon EF lenses with with Metabones adapter, I also have M adapter and Canon FD...I am thinking of an M mount wide angle that I can use in both cameras, I will look at UW Heliar. Thanks. Just ordered Voigtlander super wide Heliar 15mm series III, it is on sale at B&H less $100 for net of $699.
Advertisement Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Hi tonyniev, Take a look here Suggested lens combos. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Yarosuav Posted July 17, 2017 Share #22 Posted July 17, 2017 My combo is the Lux 35mm FLE, and Noctilux 0.95. I thought I was done (I use my A9 if I need more flexibility). However, I rented the Summilux 28mm from lensrentals for some time, and that is giving me a lot to think about now. To be hones, I didn't like using the Lux 28mm on my M10: You can barely see the framelines, the lens is big and relatively heavy, with a lot of viewfinder blocakage. The blockage, together with the framelines issue is especially annoying. However, when I opened the files on my computer, just wow... The 28mm Lux is amazing, the rendering, sharpness and sparkle give the 35mm FLE run for its money... I'm totally blown away by this lens. I going to explore the Q now, to see if that offers a viable alternative to the 28mm Lux, w/o the issues of using it on a rangefinder...
Tailwagger Posted July 17, 2017 Share #23 Posted July 17, 2017 For those of you with the new camera: Do you find yourself using a smaller aperture for greater depth of focus with this camera's cleaner high-ISO results? Have you been using slower lenses? For people who don't need shallow focus depth for artistic concerns, is it practical to use a slower lens all the time? Can't say I do, BUT, I will say that I find 800, all I've needed so far, very, very clean. So clean that I honestly can't tell the difference at least in general use between it and base ISO. Comparing to the M240 in terms of stops from base ISO 200 to 1600, the M10 results are night and day in terms of noise. So while I haven't used the camera in the way you mention, in my admittedly unscientific opinion there certainly is a enough latitude between the M10 and its predecessor to provide a couple of extra usable stops. Thank you @Tailwagger Has anyone shot anything around EV0@100ISO? I was shooting with the ilford 3200ISO film and a f/2.5 color skopar. Wide open I was still down between 1/8th and 1/30th. I'm wondering if I can expect better low light results with an m10. Most clothing and scenery were black at this music show, so the scanned film did pretty well in this case. TheVanguard Posted July 18, 2017 Share #25 Posted July 18, 2017 (edited) I came to Leica from canon for the M10 My lenses are: 18 Sem I know the 21 is probably more pratical but I looked at the images and the 18 tugged at the heart strings. 35 cron, great lightweight lens. 50 lux 1.4 ASPH my 'main' lens so invested heavily here. 90 cron pre ASPH not likely to use the 90mm so much and although not as sharp as the modern version, for portraits that's not always a bad thing in my book. Also saved some money by buying older version Still trying to get to grips with them but pleased with my selection so far. pnoble Posted July 19, 2017 Share #26 Posted July 19, 2017 A 35mm Lux FLE and an APO 50mm which I haven't taken off my M10 since I bought both six months ago. Both relatively small, light, extremely fine lenses that don't block much of the viewfinder. But I don't believe in carrying additional lenses and swapping them around in the field. Imagine I'll drop one sooner or later.
autograph Posted July 22, 2017 Share #27 Posted July 22, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) 35mm Cron and 75mm APO Cron may be the minimalistic combo for street and portraiture. 28 elmarit 50 cron may be an another option, if you need wider focal for landscapes.

This covers everything for me almost, from portraits to landscapes and street photography. Ive never gone longer than a 50mm because the lenses start to get longer. I would suggest only getting lenses you know you'll love and use. They last forever too. Do u feel like u ever needed the 28 instead of the 35? Or wanted to add the 28?
