John Z. Goriup Posted July 4, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Started a thread with this title a couple of years ago showing a friend's red Alfa GTA at Laguna Seca between heats - would like to continue with the best, most interesting and in my opinion certainly most beautiful part of another Alfa, the engine from a 1933 8C-2800 (for sale at Fantasy Junction in Emeryville, CA). A very lucky collector will be undoubtedly be very happy with this wonderful old treasure. SL / 24-90 Vario-Elmarit JZG Welcome, dear visitor! John Z. Goriup Posted July 6, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted July 6, 2017 Please John , Is it with a volumetric compressor ? Jacques Yes, Jaques, the "C" in early Alfa-Romeo model designations means that the car was equipped with a Compressor. The central gear-train driven Roots-type ' supercharger/ blower could be called a volumetric compressor I suppose, but it is more commonly referred to as a 'positive displacement' supercharger - in this particular case two spiral-cut vanes are used to increase volumetric efficiency of the motor.
