dkCambridgeshire Posted August 5, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 5, 2006 Depends where you are staying but here are two with a good reputation: Primary Colour, 80 Kingsland Rd. London E2 8DP : http://www.primary-colour.com Genesis, The Depot, 2 Michael Rd, Fulham, London SW6 2AD: http://www.genesis-digital.net If you can advise exactly where you will be staying I can probably list a few others within easy access. They would all be professional labs offering C41, E6 and black and white Cheers Dunk

earleygallery Posted August 5, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 5, 2006 A couple more; Metro Imaging - Homepage I've not used them myself but they come recommended. Name: Sky Photographic Services Address: Ramillies House, 1 Ramillies Street Phone: 020 7434 2266 I've used Sky for medium format (can't find their website - they are just off Oxford St near Soho) Also, there is a chain of Mini labs called Snappy Snaps (for 35mm) who I have found consistently good. Photo & Digital Specialists
andybarton Posted August 5, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 5, 2006 Also, there is a chain of Mini labs called Snappy Snaps (for 35mm) who I have found consistently good. Photo & Digital Specialists I didn't know that they will do E6 as well. Thanks James. I wonder how long it takes them to turn them round. It's such a shame that they have such a rubbish business name... We don't take "snaps"! (Well, I do, but some of us don't )
michaelc Posted August 9, 2006 Share #6 Posted August 9, 2006 I'm very pleased with Snappy Snaps - never tried before. Canterbury branch did my 7x5 Superia 100 beautifully. Pity I don't live near them or another branch.
wattsy Posted August 9, 2006 Share #7 Posted August 9, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Name: Sky Photographic Services Address: Ramillies House, 1 Ramillies Street Phone: 020 7434 2266 I think Sky went bust at least a couple of years ago. As for Snappy Snaps, they are a franchise operation and their range of services may vary depending upon the individual branch. The Wardour Street branch is usually good. earleygallery Posted August 9, 2006 Share #8 Posted August 9, 2006 Andy, Yes, Snappy Snaps offer a pretty good range of services, including E6 and B&W. I 'found' them a couple of years back when an artist friend of mine was showing me some slides and prints of her. I remarked on the quality of them and asked which lab she used. I hadn't used them before then, mostly because of the name - you just assume 'average quality 1 hour d&p'. I tend to have my colour film processed and scanned only (using the CD for 'proofs' and web use) although its only a few quid more for 6X4 prints, which you can have printed matt or gloss and with a border if you prefer. Wattsy (sorry can't see your name now) yes they are a franchise but they've obviously got pretty good quality control because all of the branches I've used - about 5 - have been equally good. Oh, and I don't have any shares in them! I knew Sky in Cannon St had closed but I thought their Soho branch was still going. I'll have to check next time I'm passing. andybarton Posted August 16, 2006 Share #10 Posted August 16, 2006 End of the month? That's like two weeks away? I was going to suggest an ad in one of the specialist mags, but that's not an option now.

bradreiman Posted August 16, 2006 Share #12 Posted August 16, 2006 hello-i am in london and posted a similar request yesterday. today i called metro and genesis and due to services offered and prices i went with genesis. they are doing many rolls of e6 and hand process black and white for me with a day and a half turnaround. also high res scans of all of the above. i am also working with a band and am staying in kensington where most road crews stay while in london (royal garden hotel). genesis also does bike courier service which is much cheaper than 4 cab rides (8 pounds each). if your interested i can tell you how it turns out by friday midday (gmt). cheers and good luck...bradley
