lanetomlane Posted June 28, 2017 Share #1 Â Posted June 28, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Last night I decided to update my SL to the latest Version 3 firmware. I've updated firmware before on the SL and numerous times on the digital M's and T, and am therefore confident of the process. Â However, this time after the update, the camera seemed to be stuck in Video Mode and the only way I could change it back to Photo Mode was by doing a total reset. It was no big deal, just a little inconvenient, but I wondered if anyone else had encountered the same niggle; I certainly wouldn't say it was a problem. Just curious. Â Thanks, Tom

thighslapper Posted June 28, 2017 Share #2  Posted June 28, 2017 In a word no ...... not in beta testing of the versions prior to 3.0 release and no other reports of similar to date for the full 3.0 release.  Having said that, if you trawl the firmware update posts of most Leica cameras you will find the odd person with some update glitches ..... but none seem to follow any logic or pattern.
scott kirkpatrick Posted June 28, 2017 Share #3 Â Posted June 28, 2017 It's probably too late now, but it would have been interesting to check the "customize controls" menu when you were having this problem to see what your LV button had decided to do (since it wasn't changing you from video to still). Â Some problems that occur during upgrades are the result of not saving your previous profiles, or saving them, but not restoring them. Â Anyway, when things get funny with a deep menu camera like the SL, a reset to default and then a careful review of all the menu items is always a good idea.
