So much so that when trying to release an earlier SF58 there was damage done to the alignment of the hot shot.... any ideas...and is the an FEC setting on the S ..thanks in advance... Other question: since you have used both flash guns, would you still recommend to get the SF 58 (much lower price now) or is there something that has been much improved on the SF 64? FlashGordonPhotography Posted July 2, 2017 Share #4 Posted July 2, 2017 Neither my 007 or S2 have problems with getting the SF64 on or off. They slide in and out smoothly with no slop. On the SL the SF64 has advantages (two way communication of FEC for example). The SF 64 has a longer zoom range and slightly more power. It has an improved (although still not great) user interface. Generally I don't see any real benefit in upgrading for the S but do for the SL. Probably the biggest upgrade is the shoe is metal instead of plastic and therefore a lot more durable.
