cocker Posted June 23, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Beneath where she was standing was the most complete War Room Complex of WWII. The Maltese Islands were subject to the most appalling siege. The Lasacaris War Rooms are a phenomenal survival and monument to the resilience of the Maltese and the British on the island in the the 1940's.If we let it happen again we are fools. hamey Posted June 23, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 23, 2007 More bombs where dropped on Malta then any other place. Of course being all rock it saved it from a lot of damage, nevertheless King George VI awarded the Maltese with the George Cross, truely deserved. The last time I visited Malta was in 1958, I was only 9 years old then But still remember the lovely warm waters when I went swimming. Shame about the mass of African refugees that are arriving there. The island is to small to accommodate them,it will never be the same. Cheers.
