Hi!

After reading all the PC Super Angulon-R 28mm on M stories, I decided to buy one.

I using the lens with a Novoflex-Adapter on a Leica M 240.

After checking the lens and doing the firs test-shots I figured out that the lens is not sharp if I use the infinity mark.

If I stop a little bit before infinity the lens is razor sharp.

Is this "normal" or is it problem of this copy? So I have to send it back?!

Another thing: What is the red mark between 4 and 8 - look at the image?!

Thanks!

I found this shooting blind on an M9. I now have an SL, and tested it indoors with all my R lenses using an R-Adapter-T.

All my R lenses indicate focus (on the focus ring) closer than expected.

I suggest using the Visoflex adapter on the M(240) and relying on visual focussing.

The Red mark is for IR film use. You set focus to this mark, instead of the white line.

Try using the red line for normal focus... it might help... not every time though!

Don't forget to use f8 or 11 if you shift.

Good luck,

John

I did use the R-M adapter.

I suppose they allowed for discrepancies in accuracy of the R lenses as they were designed for focussing by eye and perhaps not as precise as an M lens had to be.
