ymc226 Posted May 21, 2017 Share #1 Â Posted May 21, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) My SL is set up to 1+2 card recording. Â When I filled up a card, I thought it would record to #1 first as I initialized both using SD Formatter. Â #1 card was not recorded to at all and #2 card is where all the pictures were found. Â Â Maybe I should initialize both cards in camera and not in SD formatter but I never had a problem initializing using SD Formatter with the M9-P, MM, M240 or Q before. Â The cards I am using are the Lexar Pro SDXC II 64GB 1000X 150MB/s.
Advertisement Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Hi ymc226, Take a look here Card 2 has pictures but Card 1 doesn't. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dancook Posted May 21, 2017 Share #2 Â Posted May 21, 2017 Take a photo with only card 1 inserted. Then insert card 2. This might work. Can't verify it right now but think I've done this myself
steppenw0lf Posted May 21, 2017 Share #3 Â Posted May 21, 2017 This is normal - I had a similar setup once. When slot 1 was full I removed the card and continued with the card in slot 2. After a few days I reinserted the first card in slot 1, but had in the meantime deleted everything on that card. The SL simply continued writing to slot 2 and only switched back to slot 1 when the card in slot 2 was full. Â So the SL continues writing to the card it is currently using - is this illogical ? Not in my eyes, so I have no problem with it. Â But with the new firmware you will be able to get more sophisticated setup options - like DNGs to slot 1 and JPGs to slot 2. Â If you want to force writing to slot 1, then simply remove the card in slot 2 for a short time. After you have taken a few pics on slot 1 you can reinsert card 2 and the SL will continue as you wanted.
