Advertisement Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Hi Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS, Take a look here Question for the toffs regarding the Leica Noctilux 0.95. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted May 19, 2017 Share #22  Posted May 19, 2017 Hears my logic My S is Fantastic......nothing that I have matches it for IQ but it heavy My SL is fantastic but sum what heavy The M-10 is (yet to find out) but light  I don't have any SL lenses as they are monstrosities, meaning I only shoot M lenses on the SL. I have all the adapters S to SL Nikon to SL Hasselblad V to SL but in reality I have only ever used these adapters once when I first got them then put them in the same drawer as the rest of my trash.  Like most photographers we are all looking for the golden apple, and some are willing to spend anything to find it............you know the ones I mean Jeff.  For me I just want to keep my S and rather than bin everything else , maybe but maybe fall in love with an M again. I had the Q and at first thought I had that walkabout golden apple but it turned out that the fixed 28mm was not my cup of tea. My M6 ttl with the Arte Di Mano half case looks amazing but the 35mm film IMHO is sh!te.............. 6 x 6 and 4 x 5 is another ball game though.  So Im still looking for that golden apple, I already have it in the S007 but try lugging that frigging thing around with 3 lenses all day and you will soon get a divorce with that puppy.  I NEED that walk around camera, one that I can fit the Burgendy Arte Di Mano half case on and shoot my M lenses with....................., until I find that then I won't be a happy camper.  Neil  Neil Gets back to the question I asked yesterday. For me the golden apples are the pics and prints, not the cameras. I long ago sorted my needs and style, so no need to delude myself about some magic bullet via camera change. Leica gear is already good enough IQ wise. My gear selection now is based on practical needs.... seeing the VF better (hence M10 vs M240) or using wider/ longer lenses (hence maybe the SL). Life is simpler and my results depend only on me. I think putting your Noctilux on an M vs an SL may get you temporarily jazzed, but likely won't fundamentally cause you to change or improve your pictures or results. Not a reason to not do it anyway if it gives you joy... to each his own... but just my observation.  Jeff

Jeff S Posted May 19, 2017 Share #31 Â Posted May 19, 2017 The SL with an M lens seems like a damn nice walkabout camera, especially for a big guy. For something smaller, the choice is obvious, other than choosing a specific M model number. Not so hard really.... particularly when you've already owned an M240. There are countless posts on the M10. I tried one in a Leica store to see if it suited... zero need to post questions here. Â Jeff

Jeff S Posted May 19, 2017 Share #33 Â Posted May 19, 2017 Great.... now just remember that an M10 would save you a grand total of 187 grams, with battery, but you' d make up part of that due to the need to carry an external VF to support use of your 21 SEM.
