carstenw Posted June 22, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I keep forgetting to report this: a-la-carte is coming for the M8, and Leica is apparently already ramping it up. When I visited the Leica mechanic at Leica Berlin, his Betriebskamera (company camera, M8) was wearing vulcanite! I asked him about it, and he reluctantly admitted it, as well as confirming that it will be possible to send the cameras in for a skin-exchange. I guess the lineups for the M8 in Solms will never die down. I know that I will change my M8 skin to the M6-style leather covering. I prefer the slight softness to it, for a more comfortable grip. carstenw Posted June 22, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted June 22, 2007 I would change the framelines for a set accurate at 2m in a heart-beat.
marknorton Posted June 22, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 22, 2007 Leather, I would like, also maybe engraving on the top cover to relieve the plain expanse to the left of the hot shoe. More accurate framelines too, the slack in the 75mm line is crazy.

martinb Posted June 23, 2007 Share #16 Posted June 23, 2007 Good to hear! If it's not a lot more expensive than the ordinary M8 it'll be more fun to get a second body.

carstenw Posted June 24, 2007 Author Share #19 Posted June 24, 2007 Yes, my dot is black. Apparently though, as I heard afterwards, it isn't that hard to get black dots from Leica. That'll save me some time the next time I need to do this Here is an elevator mirror shot with the 1st gen. 75 Lux. Welcome, dear visitor!
