That was not acceptable to me as a customer, so I called three other dealers, and got three different policies. At best, I can start all over again on another wait list. My deposit reciept states clearly there may be price fluctuations. Do you expect your dealer to take the hit? Starting over will certainly be at the current price. Leica raising prices while people are waiting for the camera is going to cause problems for someone - either the dealer or the customer will "take the hit" as you call it. The dealer has to decide what keeping their customers is worth, or the customer has to decide what sticking with Leica is worth. Starting over will certainly be at the current price.
