adli Posted April 27, 2017 Share #1  Posted April 27, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bought an IROOA from a web shop, but when it arrived I was a bit surprised that it was twice as long as expected. It does not look like the versions I can find description of on the net.  Anyone here have some information on this version? It has velvet on the inside of the outer part. Unfortunately it will not fit backwards on my Rigid Cron, which was my intention with it. Fake? Special version? Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Hi adli, Take a look here Strange IROOA. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wizard Posted April 27, 2017 Share #2 Â Posted April 27, 2017 To the best of my knowledge, you can separate the black part from the silver part (the black part is screwed into the silver part I believe). So I think what happened is that someone took the front part of a Leica sunshade for 90mm lenses (because that is exactly how the front part looks like) and screwed it into an IROOA base part. Functionally, it will work, but of course only for 90 and 135mm lenses, and not for 35mm lenses. Â You should return the item, because it is not what you wanted to buy, as it is technically not an IROOA sunshade, although the base part says so. adli Posted April 27, 2017 Author Share #3 Â Posted April 27, 2017 Interesting, the two parts can actually be screwed apart as you said. I thought they were fixed. Â I think I will keep it for my 90 Tele-Elmarit and get a real IROOA in addition. Postage for return will cost more than the refund, I got it very cheap. Â Thanks! Ivar B Posted April 27, 2017 Share #4 Â Posted April 27, 2017 This is not an IROOA hood. It loolks like someone has taken the shade from a 12575 90mm/135mm hood and mounted it on an IROOA base. So it is not a fake or a special version, but a hybrid of two shades.

luigi bertolotti Posted April 27, 2017 Share #7  Posted April 27, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) No doubt... a IUFOO/12575 shade (90/135) onto an IROOA Mount... no problem to Exchange shades when you find a real IROOA... pity only for the non-corresponding writings...  you can avoid this little annoyance finding an ITDOO instead of an IROOA... it hasn't the focals engraved on the base ring (has "Summicron 5cm" on the shade, perfect for your lens...) and the screw Mount of the shade on the chrome ring is Always the same (I have just verified on my items, see hereunder a quick pict). The ITDOO base ring fits perfectly on Tele Elmarit 90, too.  Welcome, dear visitor! I have 2 (one with the "old" Elmar 9/Hektor 13,5 writing, the other with the "new" 90s/135s writings, and both have the black velvet strip.
