Greetings,

I am a rank amateur. I like to shoot macros & digiscopes.

My son-in-law has me set up to shoot seven people individually, and as a group, for his business web-site.

Poor guy.

I have to be there in two hours.....I will bring my D-lux 3 & my Digilux 2.

The batteries are charged.

I think we will be outside.

My first inclination is to use the portrait setting on the D-Lux 3.......no skill needed.

Any thoughts ?.........I'm not expecting much.....just a few tips please.........Al

I would tend to be sarcastic and say good luck!:)

Seriously one thing I would do is shoot in open shade and watch that there is no hot spots of light on your subjects. Keep talking to your subject to reassure them that they look great and show no sign that you are not sure of yourself!

Al....... I am sorry that you felt that I mistreated you with my reply..... I am a commercial and industrial photographer and been in the business for many years after my two years studies in photography. There is no crash course in portrait or any type of photography.... it takes time and errors to become a good photographer..... I will still learn all my life because over the years we see things differently!

I really hope your work turn-up to your liking.......

Jacques,

Communication via print on the web is touchy.......I was, and still am 100 % grateful for the advice you gave me...... REALLY REALY & TRULY.....to me "fast and dirty" means succinct, right-on, just what the doctor ordered, etc.............Thanks again for helping me with this task that I really wasn't qualified for........I told them that I would not be showing up with umbrellas and lights..........The job is now done and your advice was good.....Al
