Due to my constant attack on Leica S, I want to start a thread where I want to recollect all the good point and memories I have during my ownership  of Leica S. And maybe we can all share our experience together.

1. My first foray into the world of Digital Medium format was actually not Leica, but it was Pentax 645D, bought second hand from a friend with 2 lens. It was quite a refreshing experience as I was constantly amazed by the incredible image quality gain and sharpness (I do a lot of cityscape and architecture photos) that I get from the files 645D is giving me. So there I was, shooting along happily until one day, a friend (he's on the forum too, menos) invited me to join him on a night photo trip in an torn down Shanghai Residential area, that I first came into contact with S. In my mind at that time, the S was a holy grail of all IQ. and I was blown away by the portability, the handling the lens, the IQ, and the rendering from the S2 he was using. The next day, I went to enquire about how much this cost to switch to this system and tightening my belt, I sold off all the 645D and jump into a used S006 and a 70mm CS (I thought I need leaf shutter).

2. First time out shooting with the S was amazing. It was a street photography group arrange on meetup. in one occasion, there's a local resident, a 50~60 yo Shanghai-ese start to take notice of us and came over to talk to me, and ask me what we were doing, so a few conversation later, I ask whether I can take a shot of him... this is what I get. This is perhaps the best portrait I have ever shot. I just couldn't believe smoothness and detail from the files. It's just blew my mind away.

3. A few months later, I have acquire more lens (30mm, 35mm, 120mm, 30-90mm) and I am constantly amazed by the colour the S is giving me. It has this blue tint to the normal usual edit process I do and I can't replicate it with any other system. It just capture the moment so well and freeze everything in motion.

4. It is when I get my hand on the S24, that I truly believe this could be the system that could complete my every demand. (I don't do portrait much). It is such a versatile lens and the files is still remarkably excellent and the IQ from the lens is top notch. I believe that nothing will ever come close to this lens. And I have since change from S006 (my second 006) to S007.

5. Everytime I look through that view finder, it's just a joy to use. Nothing come close to the experience of looking through such a large viewfinder. And manual focus is made easy with the split focus screen.

6. The battery is amazing. 2 battery, and I can use them without recharge for a 5 days short trip. Very happy with the result.

I did enjoy my time with the Leica S, and hopefully, they will entertain us with new product in the future and I might still jump the wagon again for the forth time....

For me the Leica S is a slow beast and I dislike it quite a lot... until I go to another system (doesn't matter what) and I am yet reminded of how spoiled I am.

Back to the Leica S, and yet again getting so used to the quality I forget how great it is and start complaining again.

It's when one loses something you start appreciating it.

For me the Leica S is unbeatable.

It's also the best camera I've ever used for portrait work, it doesn't matter if I use a 24mm lens or a third party 120mm or 140mm it's sensor always captures what I want and how I want it. Simply amazing.
