antigallican Posted April 10, 2017 Share #1 Â Posted April 10, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wonder if anyone could tell me please, how much bigger is the summicron 35 R lens than a summicron M 35? I want one for use on an SL and am attracted (of course) by the price of Rs. Whichever I use I have to use a mount adapter.
Advertisement Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Hi antigallican, Take a look here summicron 35 r lens size relative to summicron 35 m. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted April 10, 2017 Share #2  Posted April 10, 2017 Maybe someone will be able to post a photo of both together. I'd say approximately twice as large, but probably a better fit for the SL.  There are two Summicron R 35's. The earlier version is larger/heavier and takes series filters or 48mm thread, but I love its rendering. The later version has the built in hood. The Elmarit R 35 is also worth considering.
adli Posted April 10, 2017 Share #3  Posted April 10, 2017 Quick iPhone shot. The M lens is the Cron v4, the R lens is the one with 55mm thread. Big difference, but the R lens balance well on the SL.
