Gabrimaz Posted April 7, 2017 Share #1 Â Posted April 7, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys I've just joined this community and as I'm intended to buy a used Summicron 50mm (69-79s). The price is pretty good considering other prices I've seen on the Web the only point is that the front lense has some I guess cleaning marks. What would be a reasonable price in your mind to acquire such a lense with following defect.

Lord Lucan Posted April 7, 2017 Share #2 Â Posted April 7, 2017 In UK used market,I would say around 300ish. But I suggest you to go for a cleaner version. I think this thread belongs to M Lenses section.
Gabrimaz Posted April 7, 2017 Author Share #3 Â Posted April 7, 2017 300ish that's a big surprise for me, usually those lenses vary from 600 to 800. Or am I completely missing something. Is it because of the 69to79 time range?

Is it because of the 69to79 time range? Sorry, my bad! I was thinking about first generations of summicrons. Yes what you quoted is just about right. But you may find a clearer sample for that kind of price. Also there is another alternative. You can buy a mint Summarit 50 for that price. But it is very slightly slow (F2.5). Robert E Posted April 7, 2017 Share #6 Â Posted April 7, 2017 You should definitely check into the Summarit line. They are quite sharp and have great color rendering. The 2.5s will run about 750 USD and the newer 2.4 line is even better, but will run twice that amount. The f stop difference between that and a 2.0 is really negligible. sblutter Posted April 9, 2017 Share #9  Posted April 9, 2017 I'm in love with Ver. 4 (tabbed) - a wonderful lens with creamy bokah & nowhere near as heavy as a 'lux  They been abt $1300 USD on Ebay a long time for a good example. Considering I've been using the same lens for 20+ yrs, an excellent investment
