Advertisement Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 Hi mwalker649, Take a look here Is factory coding still a log jamb?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
AlanJW Posted June 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 20, 2007 It depends on the lens. There was a post from someone who'd gotten back a Tri-Elmar in about 3 weeks. Mine took closer to 6 weeks. I still have a 50mm 'cron sitting there for 7 weeks. The issue is the lens mounts and whether they are available when you send in your lens.
charlesphoto99 Posted June 20, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 20, 2007 My 28mm took about six weeks, but then when I got it back last week they put a 24mm mount on it by mistake! Needless to say I was less than amused..... Good luck....
Shootist Posted June 20, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 20, 2007 I'm waiting on 2 90 Tele Elmarits and a 135 f/2.8 had to go to Germany for coding and a focus checkup.
xrogers Posted June 20, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 20, 2007 I found that I could durably code my 90 TE by Sharpie-ing one screw head---it's recessed, so it doesn't wear off. I recently got all my remaining lenses coded in one week (including shipping time) by sending the flanges to John Milich, this board's resident Leica machinist (email jm@milich.com for more info). Clean professional machine work, fast, $25 per flange, you supply your own paint, easy. Highly recommended. --clyde
losta Posted June 21, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 21, 2007 My 75 Lux has been in Allendale for 6 weeks, I had previously had my 21, 24, 35 cron and 50 nocti there, they only took 2.5- 3 weeks.

cwf Posted June 22, 2007 Share #9 Posted June 22, 2007 Two weeks ago, after calling Leica USA I was told by someone, who sounded informed and made an effort to check, that they now can do all but two lenses (possibly Noctilux and 75mm, but please don't trust my memory). I was also told it would take three or four weeks. I sent in two lenses and in about a week got a confirming repair order for each. I am hoping to see my lenses back in another two or three weeks. The question now for me is when to send in the two other lenses I have that are in line for coding.
