FrancoisF Posted March 24, 2017 Share #1  Posted March 24, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) This calla lilly is growing in my terrace in Quito (Ecuador).  I took this picture with my Nikon D700 and the Elmarit R 90mm, at f/2.8.  The color version of the Raw file is developped in Aperture 3 (3.4.5 version).  The B&N with the Silver Efex Pro2 plug-in.  Which one do you prefer?  All comments are welcome.  Thank you.  Francois Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Hi FrancoisF, Take a look here Calla lilly (two versions). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jenniferx Posted March 24, 2017 Share #2  Posted March 24, 2017 Lovely shot Francois, both of them.  I like the colour version because the gradient of the yellow/green in the lily itself is striking and luminous. It looks quite 3D.  Although I also like how monochrome levels the background- whereas you are drawn to the reddish/orange in the colour version.  I think I would pick colour if I had to choose! fotografr Posted March 24, 2017 Share #3 Â Posted March 24, 2017 As is, I also prefer the color version. However, if the entire background was black, as it is in the shadow area in the right third of the frame, then I'd prefer the b&w version because I think it would be much more dramatic. FrancoisF Posted March 24, 2017 Author Share #4 Â Posted March 24, 2017 jenniferx, fotograf, Thanks for your kind comments. Yes a black background would give dramaticity to the B&W picture.
