kb7001 Posted March 18, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 18, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) What do you find to be the most useful accessories? In particular, is the "holster" bag/case useful? I have plenty of memory cards. I also have an extra battery and a clear b+w filter (only for when I am near the coast). charleswolford Posted March 18, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 18, 2017 I found the holster bag to be a bit too small for me since it is large enough to hold an iPad but not a small laptop. I am really enjoying the dark green safari half case from Angelo Pelle. Also, Sailor Strap makes a lot of quality straps that looks great on the Q and are highly functional. wda Posted March 18, 2017 Share #3 Posted March 18, 2017 The Leica handgrip was my first priority together with a spare battery. I did add a screen shield but felt the need for little more.
Leica Guy Posted March 18, 2017 Share #4 Posted March 18, 2017 I would steer clear of the holster. Multiple stories on the forum of people dropping their Q out of it when they forgot to snap the strap over it.
Leica Guy Posted March 18, 2017 Share #5 Posted March 18, 2017 The Thumbs Up for the Q is very nice and greatly improves confidence while holding. A few folks find it gets in the way of the thumb wheel or zoom button. I've never found that to be much of a concern.
Mr.Q Posted March 18, 2017 Share #6 Posted March 18, 2017 I used the handgrip for about a year. It's a great accessory if you don't mind the added weight and bulk. Recently I only use the thumbs-up. I've been eyeing the Arte di mano case for a while but I can't justify the price.
Leica Guy Posted March 19, 2017 Share #7 Posted March 19, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I used the handgrip for about a year. It's a great accessory if you don't mind the added weight and bulk. Recently I only use the thumbs-up. I've been eyeing the Arte di mano case for a while but I can't justify the price. Justify it!! I have the Arte Di Mano half case with Aventino grip and battery compartments flap. It's perfect. Extremely high quality.
Surelythisnameisfree Posted March 23, 2017 Share #8 Posted March 23, 2017 arte di mano cases are indeed lovely. for a cheaper and quite practical option Lim's half case is rightly highly recommended
MickyW Posted March 23, 2017 Share #9 Posted March 23, 2017 I like to keep it simples .... Leica's own half case, fits and works admirably ... made for the job Leica's own lens cap, fits and works admirably and still doing sterling service after sixteen months or so, so no need for fancy add ons! Peak Design Cuff Strap ... works superbly, well made and is a great piece of kit The 'stick on' extra grip on the case long since became loose and came off ... wasn't really required anyway but maybe seemed a good idea at the time! Carried in a Domke shoulder bag, couple of spare batteries, lightweight, safe, inconspicuous and ready for immediate action Works just fine for me ... maybe not for everyone though
MickyW Posted March 23, 2017 Share #10 Posted March 23, 2017 I think sometimes people look for a solution to a problem that doesn't exist
Voxen Posted March 24, 2017 Share #11 Posted March 24, 2017 No accessory needed for me, the Q is perfect as it is.
emilspix Posted March 24, 2017 Share #12 Posted March 24, 2017 I actually find the Thumbs Up to be one of the better accessories I've purchased for the Q. Probably the other accessory I appreciate quite a bit is a hand-strap as I don't like keeping the camera around my neck all the time.
