valstadsve Posted December 23, 2017 Share #21 Posted December 23, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, it featured largely, even a comment by Snowden about how the Leica was so unobtrusive in use. Nice bit of product placement for Leica. Slight goof in the photoshoot scene where the photographer does an off-the-cuff close-up with a focus distance of maybe 10-20 centimeters. Otherwise a very enjoyable episode!
Advertisement Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Hi valstadsve, Take a look here Great M3 with "goggles" in Kong: Skull Island. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
plaidshirts Posted February 4, 2018 Share #22 Posted February 4, 2018 Just saw Kong:Skull Island and the actress playing the photographer through out the movie uses a beautiful M3 with a 35 with goggles and a MR meter. The film is set in 1973 and the camera body looks like it has a custom tan leather finish as opposed to black vulcanite. Many close up shots of the viewfinder with frame lines appear as she's framing shots. I was impressed that they got it right from a historical viewpoint. Worth seeing the film just for this! Apparently, Brie Larson, the actress playing the photojournalist, is an avid film photographer. https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2017/03/09/brie-larson-took-photos-while-shooting-kong-skull-island/98915482/
Martin B Posted February 4, 2018 Share #23 Posted February 4, 2018 BTW, if anybody watches "Babylon Berlin" on Netflix - in episode 11 an early Leica camera model also pays a crucial role there to take air surveillance photographs.
