cpclee Posted March 2, 2017 Share #23 Posted March 2, 2017 There is no distinguishable IQ differences between the 24-90 and the M lenses that I own (75AA, 35FLE, etc) apart from differences in the character of rendering which is subjective. The 50SL is a cut above all of these.
cpclee Posted March 2, 2017 Share #24 Posted March 2, 2017 And the 24-90 is not really that large. It's the hood that makes it look large. The lens is about the same size as comparable DSLR zooms especially after you take into account that those zooms will need an adapter to mount on the SL. If you're from Leica M world then yes, it is huge. But if you're from DSLR world then the SL and lens pretty much the same size with DSLR

But if you're from DSLR world then the SL and lens pretty much the same size with DSLR Looking at how it fits into the same neoprene lens bag, it's only about a half-inch longer than the Super-Elmar-R 15mm f/3.5 and weighs about the same. This means either "Aw, the SL24-90 isn't that big!" or "OMG, that Super-Elmar-R 15mm is huge too!" Take your pick.
