I got the M240 beginning of March 2013, actuations maybe 50 000

No black frames recorded

For sure the noise changed, it has not anymore this wonderful noise the shutter had when I got it , and it seems slower even if it is not possible

thanks to all

My original M240, purchased in 2015, was replaced in 2016 due to shutter malfunction, but the symptoms were different (black frames). One thing I have noticed, however, the shutter makes a different sound when the ISO wick is turned up to 3200 or 6400. It's inconsistent, only happening now and again.

How did you arrive at your quoted figure for actuations?

He said maybe 50,000 when I asked for an estimate. I think if i was asked the same question I'd interrogate Lightroom and add a bit (or a quite lot :) ) for the ones I've deleted.

So a guestimate. I am not sure a user can know the shutter count accurately. With M8/M9 it was accessible.

Maybe the M8 / M9 had a more reliable shutter than the M240, and maybe the manufacturers don't want you to know exactly the life of the shutter, the exact number of actuations at failure.

What is the life expectancy of the M240 shutter, anyone know? And does sequential shooting put more strain, eg overheating of solenoids (should be designed for continuous operation, and after all it's battery powered, not from mains electricity).
