elansprint72 Posted June 18, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 18, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) After a couple of years of less than perfect formation flying (imho), this year's team appear to have got it nailed. The weather was not good for photography and my lens filter was not entirely clean, after a close encounter with an errant racing car the day before; that's the excuses...... must remember to check the gear before using it. Advertisement Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Hi elansprint72, Take a look here Red Arrows. Precision.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
biglouis Posted June 19, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 19, 2007 .... good photos, despite your excuses :-) Touch of spot healing and they'll be fine. Last one is particularly good and I would have thought difficult to get right. As I lived near Farnborough as a kid, I used to see these guys every day for a week for free. Can't believe it is nearly 40 years ago. Louis
elansprint72 Posted July 14, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted July 14, 2007 BIG, Thanks for commenting and for introducing me to spot healing. This is only the second time that I've shot fast jets with a zoom lens and it is so much easier than it was 30 years ago with fixed focal lengths. In those days one really had to anticipate when to shoot. Another lesson learned is that getting in front of Joe Public on the edge of the runway is not necessarily the best place to be for shots like these; the last shot illustrates this, perhaps. martinop Posted July 15, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 15, 2007 Interesting series. Like the compositions in #4 and #6.

stuny Posted July 15, 2007 Share #6 Posted July 15, 2007 Pete - Terrific captures, but I'd be tempted to adjust the exposure on all of them. Here's a quick and dirty example
