wudai_e Posted January 31, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 31, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm debating should I keep my M9 or trade it for an M10. I'm getting the M10 either way, but any of you know what is the ball park trade-in prices at a reputable Leica dealer? If the price is too low, I'd rather just keep it, but should I? My M9 was serviced to perfection with a brand new sensor last year, it'd be a shame to trade it in so soon... except maybe the limited d-range of the M9 sensor. So advise? Thanks. Advertisement Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Hi wudai_e, Take a look here Trade-in prices of your M9s?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pico Posted January 31, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 31, 2017 If you can trade-in, then my best estimate is you will get $1200 - $1700 for it. Sucks, eh? But a recently renewed M9 is a very good camera. I would keep it and smile. .

There's probably a s@@@ load of cameras better in d range however those same cameras probably don't give the colours of the M9 or indeed the simplicity! I hope my M9 continues to co-operate and produce better pictures than anything else I've had. I don't need the extra features of later models. In some ways I hope prices plummet as I'd buy a couple more and dry box them for future use!
Lord Lucan Posted February 3, 2017 Share #4 Posted February 3, 2017 I sent mine for sensor renewal and perhaps red cover skin! I dont think I will part with it. But surprisingly, about six months ago some reputable Leica dealers were offering M9 for around 1700 GBP,and now same shops and some others have M9 for well above 2000 mark. }{B Posted February 3, 2017 Share #5 Posted February 3, 2017 Paid £3000 in October 2015 for a new M-E. Trade in price £2000 in January 2017. I also threw in a mint boxed grip. I was happy with the trade in and can afford the balance of the price as the fifteen months I had the M-E has given me time to save up. For me the improvements in the M10 over the M-E are sufficient to justify the change. Having said that I was perfectly happy with the M-E and had no wish to upgrade to the M240. Lax Jought Posted February 10, 2017 Share #6 Posted February 10, 2017 I enquired about the prospect of trading in my M9-P today, mint condition, new sensor already installed by Leica. I was quoted AUD$2000-$2500. OR, put it up for sale in the store for a 25% commission.
