Pecole Posted January 29, 2017 Share #1  Posted January 29, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Golden scarabs are invading South Portugal for about three years. The problem is that they have killed most palms in the region. Day after day, I have to collect tens of them floating on my swimming pool. This morning, I decided to take some macro images. The animal is hardly 10 mm long, but Leica makes marvels. Look at the legs' details : they explain how theses mini-predators succeed in killing big trees...and how difficult it is to clear my net after "rescuing" them from the water.  Welcome, dear visitor!
