NB23 Posted February 11, 2017 Share #21 Â Posted February 11, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wouldn't ever sell my Noctilux F/1, its such a magical lens. I also never quite understood the need for a wide angle summilux. I suppose I always think of the wide angle lens as a landscape lens, mostly. When would you ever need 1.4 on a landscape lens. Just my thoughts. Spend $1000-1500 and get the 24/2.8, fantatic lens and fast enough and keep the F1. But then again, wth is a landscape lens? Each and every time I shoot a landscape I reach for a 50 or longer focal length. Landscape with a 24? Always came out ugly.

It doesn't mean you can only take landscape nor does it mean you can't use a longer lens as I often do too. I don't think most are taking a portrait or people shot with a 24mm. Not that you can't. No rules as far as I'm concerned, whatever suits the situation. I, me, in my opinion, never saw a use for a 24mm or wider 1.4 I'm sure some have used it to great effect, it just seems like a tool I, me, in my opinion, wouldn't use much. Â When I did the Canadian Rockies, the 24mm/2.8 was on my camera the whole trip. I took zero shots with my 90mm
antikythera Posted February 12, 2017 Share #24 Â Posted February 12, 2017 don't sell noctilux. there are lot of substantial lens for 24/1.4 of Canon, Nikon etc in 1/10 price. but any lens equals to Noctilux. uhoh7 Posted February 13, 2017 Share #25 Â Posted February 13, 2017 Since you have the option to KEEP the f/1 AND buy a 21 Lux, the course is obvious: Â Sell the F1, buy M10 and 28 lux. Â I have 75 Lux, but I often need it. If I was not using it so often, I would sell it.
oldwino Posted February 13, 2017 Share #26 Â Posted February 13, 2017 Never ever sell a great copy of any 35mm, 50mm or 90mm. Unless you already have two great copies of those focal lengths. Â These are focal lengths you will always go back to after playing with ultrawides, or macro, or 75 Luxs.
BBHewee Posted February 14, 2017 Author Share #27 Â Posted February 14, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Update to those interested. Â The Lux 24 that I had been offered slipped through my fingers. In the meantime, I've kept my Nocti (and my Lux 75), and have bought a CV21/1.8 to scratch the itch.
