I went on my walk yesterday with the M10-R, fitted with the Voigtländer HyperWide 10mm f/5.6 Aspherical. I bought this lens originally for use on the CL where it nets exactly what I wanted on the APS-C format, but in all honesty I find it nearly unusable on a FF sensor. It performs very well, but it's just too wide a field of view for my feeble brain to accommodate most of the time. ;)

That said, I did make a few photos that I liked. I haven't had time to fully finish them for posting to Flickr, but I ran them as a video sequence out of Lightroom Classic and put that up on YouTube so that a friend could check them out.

The video isn't doing the best at rendering, not entirely sure why. The originals are quite sharp ... perhaps it's the 720P encoding. One thing working with this short a lens is that you have to really move in very very close in order not to include way too much extraneous stuff in a photograph.

I dunno, I like the lens on the CL but on this camera it didn't really gel for me. I'll go do another more pointed test with it and a tripod, see if it works better that way.

Any comments appreciated!

G

I was in Caspar, CA the past couple of days at the annual gathering of motorcycle friends that I started way back in 1993. The place where we stay now is an old farm, turned into hostel, on Highway 1, up on a knoll overlooking the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Mendocino County. I've been trying to make a decent photo of the farmhouse for a decade at least, and I feel the M10-R and Summicron-M 28mm finally did it right.

Nice even light with a bit of overcast, a very small amount of keystone correction, etc. I'm happy. :)

A. This is an image thread, not a discussion thread and certainly not a place for fighting - no thread is on this forum .

B. This is an M10 thread, not an M10R one.
