freitz Posted December 25, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 25, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Cheers everyone, and Happy Holidays. I just received a SF 40 from my wife for Christmas. I am having an issue where with the batteries in and hotshoe to the camera the light always stays red and does not switch to green showing me its ready to fire. I have an older M240 firmware so I am updating seeing if that changes things. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Fred

freitz Posted December 25, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted December 25, 2016 Thanks Peter, I read your post and switched from Duracell (which I bought this morning) to Amazon batteries. And the Amazon Batteries work great. The Duracell must have been old from the store. No problems here. What batteries are you using (not the make but the power output etc.)? Peter Kilmister Posted December 25, 2016 Share #5 Posted December 25, 2016 Very pleased that was solved quickly. The SF40 is great but it needs the highest powered batteries you can get to make it worthwhile. Peter

freitz Posted December 27, 2016 Author Share #10 Posted December 27, 2016 So which ones are the best for flash; which of the Eneloops?
marchyman Posted December 27, 2016 Share #11 Posted December 27, 2016 They are all good, but the Black ones (Eneloop pro) have a higher mAh rating so they will last a bit longer. Eneloop Pro (Amazon) Or start with this one to get the charger, too.
