Cheers everyone, and Happy Holidays.

I just received a SF 40 from my wife for Christmas.

I am having an issue where with the batteries in and hotshoe to the camera the light always stays red and does not switch to green showing me its ready to fire. I have an older M240 firmware so I am updating seeing if that changes things.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Fred

Thanks Peter, I read your post and switched from Duracell (which I bought this morning) to Amazon batteries. And the Amazon Batteries work great.

The Duracell must have been old from the store.

No problems here. What batteries are you using (not the make but the power output etc.)?

Very pleased that was solved quickly. The SF40 is great but it needs the highest powered batteries you can get to make it worthwhile.

I use Enaloop batteries...have a lot of AAs. They are used in many electronics. Very reliable nd hold their charge endlessly. Won't use NiCads anymore. Very fast in all my flashes.

...

So I am using just amazon ones. Since its Christmas not many locations are open today.

What brands do you guys recommend. Aren't Enaloops rechargeable?
