Grrr... I thought I was gonna be the 1000th post :-(

Sorry, Julian, it was entirely selfish motivation - I just wanted to be able to claim that "I posted the 1000th post on the I love my MP thread." Ha Ha, had to get my five minutes of fame somehow ;) there's always the 2000th (and beyond) post up for grabs!

Of course I wanted to ensure El Nino's continued perusal too.:D

At last! ;) 'Tis a thing of beauty and I hope you thoroughly enjoy it. Mines called Tri-Xie

Ha ha, great name! I suppose mine might be called Milf-ord ;) Rather risque, I know, but was difficult to impossible to conjure up a name as good as yours using HP5 or FP4 and Del-ta 3200 wasn't much good either, (my MP is not an homage to Only Fools and Horses).:D

I have, for some reason never used Tri-X (I just love HP5), but some rolls have been in the fridge for a while and I will certainly run some through soon.

As much as I love TriX, it matches the MPs soul, but not the lenses' performances. Neopan 400 is far better in this (resolution) regard, but of course not everyone likes the tonality - I do; still looks traditional with a great range of greys and tonnes more detail. First time I saw hand held delta 100 negs shot on my MP (with ZMs or Leica lenses) and developed in Xtol 1+1, I was struck dumb for a while. In mixed Xtol and Rodinal things get nice and crisp too!

What do you guys feed yours?

I use fuji acros neopan all ASA films, and Tri-x, recently I have been put onto Adox CHS 50asa. If you haven't heard of them as I hadn't here is there site. I also agree with Antistatic who says that in our harsh Australian sun he opts for plus-x over tri-x. I tend to use Neopan 100 for similar reasons. It all depends on what finished image you are after I guess. Whatever I use I feel the MP is extremely able. Even colour slide film (which is so unforgiving) is beautifully exposed. Just my 2 cents worth. Here is my mp

Here's my happy little family. As you can see, I'm not much of a digital photographer, or flash guy or macro. It took me all these years just to figure out how to post a picture on this website.

Here again with a 35mm 'cron - probably my favourite lens and my recently purchased Leicavit.

Here's another one I purchased used a couple years ago. At the time, I was convinced that a spare camera was needed, an absolute necessity. But it just sits on the shelf most of the time, and all the while my first MP (see above) keeps chugging away. Now that an SLR system has found its' way into my house, I suppose blackie has to go.

No keep it, especially if they're different magnifications. You need two bodies.
