I havent phoned Adeal (importer) to see if there are any actually in the country but both Camera Lane and Camera Exchange sold their last at the end of last financial or thereabouts when all the demonstrators were cleared out. Everyone has a few spare M7. If yours wasnt the last, it would have been one of the last ones.
Advertisement Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Hi rob_x2004, Take a look here I love my MP. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
boilerdoc Posted October 9, 2008 Share #762 Posted October 9, 2008 Alan, This thread is coming up on 2 years (11/07/06) and still going strong. So far I've resisted the urge to find an MP but it's been a close thing. 2 M7s and 2 M8s and I'm still finding myself drooling over some of these pictures of MPs. Hey, I told my wife that I may be married but I can still look at the menu! The MP is just a menu item....for now! Good job, buddy! I also heard from my dealer (druggy allusion intended;) ) here in Perth, that currently there are no new Summilux 50 ASPHs in the country either. Given the relatively low volume of sales and Solms being extremely busy with ramping up on their new products, I wonder if they're possibly moving toward an a la carte-only model for selling new MPs. Makes one wonder...
rob_x2004 Posted October 9, 2008 Share #766 Posted October 9, 2008 According to the dealers here that is the case, or what they understand to be the case. The only demonstrators they have are M8.
rob_x2004 Posted October 16, 2008 Share #767 Posted October 16, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yep. Aint none in Aus. Showing discontinued with the importer, its a la carte.
abrewer Posted October 16, 2008 Author Share #768 Posted October 16, 2008 Yep. Aint none in Aus. Showing discontinued with the importer, its a la carte. That's my understanding, too; but I keep seeing MP's for sale online at the US dealers (including Amazon) so I wonder if maybe Leica is taking orders in bulk but not building them on spec anymore.... JBA Posted October 16, 2008 Share #769 Posted October 16, 2008 I know of two used chrome MPs in Tokyo. I snapped up the only black one I've seen in months.
Vieri Posted October 16, 2008 Share #770 Posted October 16, 2008 I bought one (new) before summer, but it took almost 2 months to get it from Leica. My dealer here tells me is still available (upon order) in the regular flavor, not "A la carte". For now, at least...
