honcho Posted January 27, 2008 Share #407 Posted January 27, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks!really nice, and sure it helps holding the camera If you use heavier lenses such as the Noctilux, 90mm f2 or 75mm f1.4, a grip is very useful. I wouldn't say it works any better than the plastic Leica thing, but it looks a whole lot better on the camera.

'If you use heavier lenses such as the Noctilux, 90mm f2 or 75mm f1.4, a grip is very useful'.... because most Leica M photographers find a M 5 too big.... octo Posted January 28, 2008 Share #409 Posted January 28, 2008 I fell under the spell and ordered it as well for the MP and other Ms. I most probably don't need it, but it does look beautiful. Thanks for the link!

octo Posted January 31, 2008 Share #411 Posted January 31, 2008 The grip arrived this morning by FedEx: I couldn't believe the speed at which it reached me, all the way from GuangZhou. And it looks nice and feels nice: puts one in a good mood for shooting a few pictures, I guess.
el.nino Posted January 31, 2008 Share #412 Posted January 31, 2008 where did you get it from? the ebay-seller? just found the one for the M8. could you please post a picture of MP-version. does it go all the way through at the baseplate or does it stop right before the baseplateopener? octo Posted February 1, 2008 Share #413 Posted February 1, 2008 where did you get it from? the ebay-seller? just found the one for the M8.could you please post a picture of MP-version. does it go all the way through at the baseplate or does it stop right before the baseplateopener? Yes, I sent him a message to see whether he had any for 'normal'Ms and on receipt of his answer I ordered it. The grip stops before the baseplate catch and he put a female screw socket in the middle to accomodate mono/tri/sling/pod. Here is the link I used to see the film M grip: *Hand Made* Chinese HARD WOOD GRIP FIT LEICA MP M6 M4 M - eBay (item 310018167600 end time Feb-26-08 08:09:53 PST) Hope this helps
honcho Posted February 1, 2008 Share #414 Posted February 1, 2008 could you please post a picture of MP-version. does it go all the way through at the baseplate or does it stop right before the baseplateopener? Scroll to the top of the page. You can see mine. It leaves the baseplate opener clear in the same way as the crappy plastic Leica grip.
chris_livsey Posted February 1, 2008 Share #415 Posted February 1, 2008 Scroll to the top of the page. You can see mine. There seems to be a small pancake lens obscuring the view of where the grip base ends.
