abrewer Posted January 12, 2008 Author Share #381 Posted January 12, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) a mp should be felt, caressed, loved, handled gently and smoothly, its presenceshould be obstrusive. the way you handle a mp is the way it reciprocates...subdued elegance. almost like a woman. see the world through her eyes as she sees you. full frontal images of an mp are obscene to me... Hear! Hear! Fahim, you've made a strong bid for the title of "Poet Laureate L-Camera Forum"! Thanks Allan

JBA Posted January 13, 2008 Share #385 Posted January 13, 2008 Time to start a, "I love my MP3" post. Its true, once a person touches an MP3, you are finished, toast- kaput! Do not, under any circumstances, allow an MP3 camera to touch your fingertips! I don't think I can quite grasp your admonition without a fully illustrated moral lesson along the lines of Hogarth's A Rake's Progress.
RITskellar Posted January 13, 2008 Share #386 Posted January 13, 2008 Steering clear of the touchy feely stuff, and getting back to simple gear gawking. Here's a pic of my MP set. amorteguy Posted January 14, 2008 Share #387 Posted January 14, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been looking at those. But, I have an M3 and just bought another M3. I wanted another Leica, but didn't want to put out multiple G's for the MP when I'm saving for a new EOS body to replace my rapidly aging 1d mII. Isn't amazing how fast digitals become obsolete and the film Leicas just get more use. Also, you should get the Christmas 2007 issue of Black & White Magazine. They did a write up on the MP (this is the UK, GMC Publications magazine.)
phovsho Posted January 14, 2008 Share #388 Posted January 14, 2008 Steering clear of the touchy feely stuff, and getting back to simple gear gawking. Here's a pic of my MP set. Nice. And what are the speakers in the background? Do you have a turntable? I'm interested in how many film users also own/prefer turntables!
Cindy Flood Posted January 14, 2008 Share #389 Posted January 14, 2008 It is truly amazing to me that this thread, begun over thirteen months ago, continues to attract posts. I guess it is testament to how passionate Leica MP owners are about their film cameras. Carry on gentlemen! Thanks. Allan .....and don't forget the ladies! -Cindy

RITskellar Posted January 14, 2008 Share #392 Posted January 14, 2008 I have a turntable... Andy, is that a matte chrome MP on the left. Nice. Yes, the one on the left is black chrome. I own a turntable, but don't use it. Unlike picture taking, when it comes to music, I'm all digital.

KM-25 Posted January 23, 2008 Share #397 Posted January 23, 2008 Time to start a, "I love my MP3" post. Its true, once a person touches an MP3, you are finished, toast- kaput! Do not, under any circumstances, allow an MP3 camera to touch your fingertips! This past New Years, my gal and I were invited to a heady locals party hosted by Ivana Trump. Several notables were in attendance including Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. I was somewhat lacking in attire but it was not a black tie affair either. So I put on black stone washed jeans, a thick black turtle neck sweater with a gorgeous black, silver and gray hand knit Loominus Rhythm scarf. With that I looked fairly nice. But when I walked through the doors wearing that and my black MP3, Leicavit and 50 LHSA loaded with tri-x pushed, heads turned! I made lots of nice pictures and It was loads of fun! After years of hard work as a pro, it is nice to be able to accessorize and still get the job done..:-) My LHSA MP3 kit is just about the most gorgeous thing Leica will ever make.
