My new MP a la carte with the very first photos of my first owned Leica: M6 titan. You can see it in the left corner third capture.

I am glad you noticed it. My " new" MP has been made about two years ago already. I bought it, because I regretted trading my old MP for a new M9.

I agree, strange serial numbers, i sent an email to my Leica store in Washington DC, and asked why this is, I will share what i find out.

It is known that they make them in batches, this could be a black batch from 2 years ago still in stock?

I would not worry about it. The camera stays the same and you have the very fine beautiful black MP you wanted.

Perhaps this goes to show that Leica's serial numbering does not follow a sequence when building MP's ?. After all we've seen the way their Lens serial numbering works with some lenses.

It is confusing isn't it :D:D

Still as long as Solms maintain traceability records, should it worry us ?

Best wishes

Mike B ;)

I looked in my old e-mails:

I ordered the Leica MP Chrome al la Carte: May 10 - 2011

It arrived in the Netherlands, that's just 250 kilometers away from Solms, ;) at Juni 28 -2011. So I think that batch was made in this period.
