Great shot. Just like mine. Same lens. Why is it that folks criticize chrome lenses with black bodies? It seems some majority thinks this is a no-no. Frankjly, I like the chromed 50 Lux ASPH. It's heavier, seems more substantial than the black version??? Maybe better reale value, too, but nI am not selling mine.

When I bought mine, I had the choice of the silver lux asph and the black paint pre asph as they were but ex demo and at a (relatively) attractive price. The BP lens obviously matched the BP body but I knew I would always wonder about the legendary asph lens if I did no get it. Of course a real Leica nut would have bought both :P

I'll help with a bump. My MPs on a train to Manchester, England... about to start a road trip around Scotland. I also had a Summilux 50/1.4 (E46) pre-ASPH in my bag. Pics can be seen here:

Hi Andy

Nice work here. May I ask about your camera bag? That's a Domke right? I am looking for a bag to carry two M bodies with lenses attached and room for film, another lens, filters, notebook etc. Which model is it? Do you find it adequate?

cheers

Matt

Not a laptop. But works well with two bodies and lenses. An additional lens could be stored underneath one body in a soft pouch (which is what I do). There's two front pockets, one for filters, and the other will hold about a dozen rolls of film. It's just big enough for the stuff mentioned, but perfect for my preference, as I like the fairly small size.

You said it....and I did it! A few weeks ago I sold a black asph to get a black painted pre-asph, which is proving to be a wonderful lens and lives on a black painted M3. But I quickly regretted giving up the asph, and found a great chrome version at the same price I sold my black one for- and now very happily have both a pre-asph and asph. I do prefer the weight and also the smoother focus ring of the chrome asph over the black one I had. It lives on a chrome M7, but I have to problem using a chrome lens on a black body. best....Peter
