RITskellar Posted March 29, 2008 Share #469 Posted March 29, 2008 Gee they are in some nick. I was going to say "when they go on the block Im in" but looking at your site you've already off'd two of them or did you have even more? I sold the black paint, and have settled on the black chrome instead. These are the three that I currently have and intend to keep... finances allowing. I primarily use the black ones. rob_x2004 Posted March 29, 2008 Share #470 Posted March 29, 2008 ps. How come you let the 35f2ASPH go?
RITskellar Posted March 29, 2008 Share #471 Posted March 29, 2008 How come you let the 35f2ASPH go? I have two pre-asph Summicron 35's and preferred those to the newer ASPH model. I would have kept it for specific applications, but simply needed to re-prioritize funds at this time. It wasn't going to get used much and would be very easy to replace someday if need be. rob_x2004 Posted March 29, 2008 Share #472 Posted March 29, 2008 Pre ASPH are looking good for things in a number of focal lengths.
Philip Freedman Posted March 29, 2008 Share #473 Posted March 29, 2008 I am surprised no-one has yet commented on the use of brown straps on black cameras.
peter_n Posted March 29, 2008 Share #474 Posted March 29, 2008 Well I posted a picture of a black MP with a Canon branded green Domke strap. Not a single comment. But I did get a comment about the unsuitability of the silver lens the camera was wearing...
peter_n Posted March 29, 2008 Share #475 Posted March 29, 2008 So I rooted around on my hard disk for one that shows the strap better but now it has a BP lens so maybe this is OK... Guest darkstar2004 Posted March 29, 2008 Share #476 Posted March 29, 2008 High shutter speeds and wobbly re-wind post. Needs to take more photos. Dealer recommends regularly exercising the speeds that you don't use, even if the camera is new. I have no idea why that would be. Rather than being negative about it, I quite like the idea of the body being 'tuned' for perfect service after a few months running-in. Rolo According to the Leica NJ repair dept. folks, it keeps the lubricant from drying out and also keeps the lubricant uniformly coated on all the moving parts inside. They say that if any Leica M camera not being used regularly, you should get it out once a week and click off five "exposures" at each shutter speed. This takes about two minutes. They also say leave your lens apertures set wide open when lenses are not being used,
rob_x2004 Posted March 30, 2008 Share #477 Posted March 30, 2008 Lots of clicks for little money. They only supply UK, Ireland and Channel Islands. I thought it was the same place I bought 20packs for eleven pounds from in UK. It isnt though, and the mob I went to are out of the 07/07 stuff(Insert weeping smilie here). My MP is up and running again and will be receiving more exercise from now on. Rolo Welcome, dear visitor!
