Well, it has taken me a while, but I have joined the club. May I present the newest MP on the block, picked up today from Ivor and Elaine at Red Dot:

An a la carte MP4 .85, complete with CZ Sonnar 50mm f1.5 and a braided strap courtesy of Peter Mayer.

Regards,

Bill

Beautiful, Bill; congrats. If I'm ever in a position to get a second, silver it will be, and like my first and yours, a la carte, too.

1. I ordered a black Leica MP, as well. Purchased it at Adorama.com, in New York City, USA. It should ship on Monday (04 Oct 2010) and I should have it on Tuesday (05 Oct. 2010), since I ordered with overnight delivery. ;)

2. Adorama.com, appear to have other Leica MP Bodies in-stock (both Black and Silver), as seen at this link: leica mp - Adorama.com

1. I never received this MP, as on day it should have been delivered, I received an email that all Leica MP Bodies were "Backordered" it's just that at the time, their website did not reflect this. The Leica MP was similarly out of stock at all reputable dealers where I tend to purchase from.

2. However, last night (30 Oct. 2010) while browsing the B&H web site, I saw a Leica MP Body (Black, as I wanted) in-stock; of course, I ordered it immediately and today (31 Oct. 2010) received an email that this Leica MP has been shipped to me, and that I will have it this week on Tuesday, 02 Nov. 2010 (Midterm Elections Day, here in the USA).

3. With this purchase, I now have all the Leica-m Bodies/lenses I am interested in; so, from here on, I'll simply select from what I already have for my shooting when I want to use one or more of my Leica-m Bodies. ;)

4. Thanks, to all of you for your comments about the Leica MP, as your comments and enthusiasm for this camera, including those of Steve Huff, as seen at the link below, were quite useful to me:

BRJR,

Oh I hate it when you place an order only to find after that they don't have it in stock, but the previous page lead you to believe it was, so you're already committed.

Please post a pic or 2 when you have your new arrival. We don't have enough MP pics on this thread, only about 20% have a photo of an MP. When I'm away from home and not able to use my MP I go to check this thread for new updates.

Best of luck, Lincoln

1. Here's a quick snap, I just took of my Leica MP. As, it's still dark in my location, the picture was taken in a room lit by fluorescent lighting using my Nikon D700 with an attached Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 lens, No Flash & No PP.

2. My Leica MP is shown on top of the box it arrived in, next to a half case I purchased for it. Also, seen is my Leica M8.2 (first Leica I ever purchased), M9 and some of my Leica-m lenses (they're all listed in my Profile, this Forum): ;)

Istvan,

Another amazing photo. I'm stunned at the quality you are able to maintain while following the small file /resolution allowed in this forum. Your colour shot on M7 thread is also very beautiful. It is as though the quality is in every pixels dna that is not lost even when a much smaller version is made.

Is this you digital medium format kit again?

Regards, Lincoln

Hi, all images where taken with the D3. I don't have a medium format digital back, or camera. When I'm taking analog picture with the Hasselblad, I try do to the same as by digital workflow.

What I'm doing is, shoot in raw, no crop, no adjustments in PS, but take care for the best possible light. Than I'm resizing the image for the web, as 1200 X 800 and linking the images from flickr in a bit smaller size.

Thank you for your nice comments about the picture quality.

Not very sharp. Not very artistic either. Wanted to contribute anyway, it is this threads fourth anniversary?

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread; I recall that not too long ago someone branded us Leica lovers of being nothing but "equipment fondlers". We all ganged up on him and kicked his butt..........based on the evidence here maybe we were too harsh on the poor fellow :D

I do love my MP!

I might be getting one very soon, I just went through about 30 pages looking at others ppl's MP's. I originally has my heart set on the Silver one, but after seeing all the cameras on this thread I can't decide between Silver or Black!

Suggestions? lol
