Advertisement Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Hi cam2000, Take a look here Hay Day. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
martinop Posted June 15, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 15, 2007 I have not seen this activity (in person) for a long while. Growing up in a small town in rural Pennsylvania, we had the opportunity to buy produce from farmers including hay and straw. And observed when the farmers began cutting their fields to buy some fresh bails for our needs. My working and other assignments took me outside the USA for extended and long periods, away from the USA rural & farming scene. Your picture brings back some fond memories from youth. Chuckcars Posted June 15, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 15, 2007 Nice photograph. I like the composition, the symmetry, the sharpness. C1 is excellent, eh?

cam2000 Posted June 15, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted June 15, 2007 Hi Chuck....... I work with CS3 of course but I find Capture works best to open the DNG and I use the amount 75 and threshold 3 for sharpness..... glad you like the picture. Thanks also Gunnar for commenting on this picture....... Here is another one shot taken this afternoon on my way back from Montreal heading home. Again shot with the Summicron 50 mm lens. Chuckcars Posted June 16, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Green simply works well. As does the 50 mm. Wider would not be as good as this. I would suggest cutting the left tree out about half way between the two trees on left. That puts the red barn and white silo at about the left 1/3. My eye goes to the white silo. I, too, work with CS3 and C1. C1 has better sharpening algorithm. I'll try threshold 3.
macos Posted June 16, 2007 Share #8 Posted June 16, 2007 Both are imho great because of their simplicity and the vivid colors, a perfect composition. Congrats and thanks for sharing. Marcus
