Jeffry Abt Posted November 21, 2016 Share #1 Posted November 21, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I will start... I was on a brief holiday with my wife, our two daughters, their husbands and children in the Hill Country town of Wimberley, Texas. We'd been having great fun all day, swimming in the clear, cool waters of Lone Man Creek. Tired and hungry, we drove into town and found a restaurant, dance hall cafe. There, seated in the outside garden, was a crowd of fans watching the World Cup match between Italy and England. Placing our order for classic Hill Country grilled cuisine, we passed the time watching the match on big screen televisions. I was seated next to my grandson (lower right); he was mesmerized. On two of the screens, Italy and England dueled for the upper hand. On the third screen, American dragster racing was the attraction. Cars designed for one purpose: speed going down a straight track, with tires smoking and parachutes popping out to slow them when the race was over. My young grandson turned to me and said, "This is awesome!" There we were: a happy family watching the World Cup and drag racing. In an instant it hit me, "Wake up!" "You've got to take a picture of this." So, the Leica M and a 28mm Elmarit helped me capture the moment. ...We used the shot to create a jigsaw puzzle for the next Christmas holidays .
